Our Philosophy

From its inception, MAS Jumbies sought to be different, never wanting to be conventional nor stereotypical in its offerings. We wanted to offer an alternative to the modern J’Ouvert and to make it much more than it currently is. Our band is all-inclusive and we strive to maximize our masqueraders Carnival experience through our offerings and customer service.

MAS Jumbies was founded in the belief and conviction that in order to initiate change, risk must be taken. For MAS Jumbies, J’Ouvert signifies the Dawn of Carnival; a great day in our eyes for the rebirth of the most famous annual festival, Trinidad Carnival.

Never wanting to be content in the modern mud, paint and t-shirt bands that personify the modern J’Ouvert; MAS Jumbies seeks to revolutionize the arena in playing mas that is totally unconventional yet traditional.

The goal of MAS Jumbies in J’Ouvert presentations is to maintain the traditions of yesterday with an injection of modern aesthetics. We are above all committed to the traditions of the past and strive to offer our masqueraders and onlookers an unforgettable Carnival experience; one in which will truly be the prelude to The Greatest Show on Earth.
